Our artist does not touch the vocals at all. Instead he writes the backing in a relative minor key which is 3 steps down from the major key. </p> <p>As for the vocal tracks, he finds them online already split out. So-</p> <p>What dictates the relationship between the original vocals (on songs like Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me(Metal Version)) and the new instrumentation? do you retune the vocals to the key of the new backing, or do you write the song in a related key or mode?</p> <p>if you write to a related key, how do you choose what key (considering that what I know of metal, it&#39;s almost always in a minor key, if not harmonic minor which poses more problems than Aeolian) to write it to?</p> <p>Also, where do you get the vocal track from? do you process it out of the song? or acquire it elsewise?</p> <p>thanks for making awesome remixes, and keep up the crazy work :P </p>
